A LARGE FRENCH SILVERED, GILT BRONZE AND PORCELAIN CHINOISERIE CLOCK, Simiand, Paris, France, late 19th century
Marks to clock: Simiand A Paris; Marks to Buddha: (chop marks)
58-1/2 x 27 x 12 inches (148.6 x 68.6 x 30.5 cm)

The silvered and gilt bronze pagoda-form with clock face inset to roof, surrounded by dolphins and foliate swags, supported by chased columns with dolphin-form feet, the glazed porcelain Buddha within pagoda resting on a base decorated with gilt shells and foliate, on four figural elephants feet.

Condition

Probable refreshing to gilt, with a missing finger to Buddha and crack to the bottom of the robe. Heritage does not guarantee the working order of the clock mechanism.
