Description
Rome, ca. 1st century CE. A stunning blown glass double balsamarium with bronze applique. The two unguents are blown together with a thin strip of glass circling it from top to bottom with applied handles on either side and pontil on base. 5-1/2"H. Incredible purple patina.
A bronze applique is included and consists of a long thin shaft with ball handle and pin hole at top of shaft. 5-1/2"L.
Provenance: Ex-Norry Collection, Rochester, NY, acquired in the 1980s, current owner through descent.
