Suite of Six Chinese Rosewood Armchairs, early 20th century, each with a shaped crest above a pierced and carved splat with animal patterns, joined by foliate-carved arms to the banded seat, raised on square legs joined by a box stretcher, h. 38-1/2".

One chair has a vertical crack to its front left leg and slight damage to its front right foot. There is also a shrinkage crack to the lower portion of the carved back. Another chair has looseness to one arm. Each chair has shrinkage to their seat panels with some filler added to the front and rear edges. All are relatively sturdy throughout. Good old surface with rich patina.
