Description
Texas (Columbia, 1947). First Post-War Release Italian 4 - Foglio (55" X 78") Anselmo Ballester Art.
Glenn Ford and William Holden are ex-Confederate soldiers and friends that end up on opposite sides of the law, while competing for the affections of the beautiful Claire Trevor, in this highly entertaining and lighthearted Western. Filled with fantastic action and gripping suspense, the film manages to remain quite humorous throughout, thanks to versatile director George Marshall. Offered is an absolutely stunning large format Italian poster showcasing the magnificent talents of artist Anselmo Ballester (1897-1974). Ballester was one of Italy's greatest poster artists and his talents matured to their height after WWII. He brilliantly manages to capture the excitement, adventure, and romance of Texas, with an image that's as grand as the state itself. Prior to restoration, the poster had pinholes in each corner, slight airbrush work to correct minor tapes stains, and touchup to the folds in some areas. Very Fine on Linen.
