Description

A white metal openwork buckle, of pierced, stylised flower form, with decorative anthers and joining at geometric bands, length when joined 12.5cm; plus a napkin ring with engraved decoration. Overall weight 2.4ozt (76.8g).

Condition Report:

Items show varying degrees of surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.
Buckle is very darkly tarnished.
Two pieces fit together well.
Napkin ring is misshapen and is malleable.
Engraving is very rubbed and worn.
Neither appear marked. Buckle tests around 90% Ag and napkin ring around 75% Ag.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
