Description

An Edwardian silver biscuit barrel, of cylindrical form with domed hinged lid, embossed with flowers and scrolls and raised on an integral stand with mask detailed feet. Hallmarked Lee & Wigfull, Sheffield 1908. Approximate height to finial 19cm, weight 24.15ozt (751g).

Condition Report:

Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with age and use.
Heavier tarnishing to some areas, especially the base.
With residues of dried polish to some areas.
Some minor surface nicks and dints.
Surface wear and rubbing to areas of the decoration, causing slight loss of detail or definition to some areas.
A couple of slight knocks around the rim of the stand, and residues of stickers underneath.
Hinged lid appears in good working order and it closes securely, rising up a little bit when closed.
With slight compression to the top of the lid and knock to the finial so that it leans to one side a little bit.
Hallmarks clear and legible.
Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
