Description

An Edwardian silver mustard pot, the oval form pierced all over with foliate scrolls surrounding flowering baskets and vacant shield cartouche, domed hinged lid to a palmette thumb-piece and scroll handle, with blue glass liner, hallmarked George Nathan & Ridley Hayes, Chester 1905, height to rim 5cm; with an Old English pattern silver mustard spoon, hallmarked London 1918. Weight excluding liner 3.12ozt (97g).

Condition Report:
  • Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing consistent with age and use.
  • Hinged lid with some slight movement but closes flush.
  • There is a small visible repair to the pierced decoration on one side, otherwise appears in good order.
  • Seam line visible on handle side, more so to interior.
  • Impressions from hallmarks can also be seen to interior.
  • Hallmarks located just below the rim to one side of handle with further part hallmarks to lid, these are all clear and legible.
  • Spoon appears in fairly good condition overall including hallmarks.
  • Glass liner with a couple of minor nibbles.
  • Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
