白玉質，溫潤細膩，透亮潔白，局部留有金黃皮色。瓶直 口，長頸，溜肩，扁垂腹，底承外撇橢圓形圈足。瓶肩兩 側雕琢獸首銜活環，頸部高浮雕祥龍戲珠紋，龍首威嚴， 額上雙角似鹿，鬃毛後揚並細如遊絲，龍鱗滿布於身，肌 肉飽滿健壯，四爪勁健有力，爪前伸，似將奪取火珠。瓶 身淺浮雕祥雲飄盪，前後兩面各雕一圓形開光，分別刻 「?（乾卦）」、「隆」，並伴隨龍戲珠紋樣裝飾，充盈皇家氣 韻。瓶一側邊局部留有皮色，恰似朝陽灑落，熠熠生輝。

早在中國文明曙光的時代，就以龍作為高貴神聖的圖騰， 其地位特殊。如《禮記》：「麟、鳳、龜、龍，謂之四靈。」 饒炯注 :「龍之為物，變化無端，說解 因著其靈異如此， 以能升天，神其物，而命之曰靈。」《說文解字》：「龍，鱗 蟲之長。能幽能明，能細能巨，能短能長，春分而登天， 秋分而潛淵。」龍不僅是通天徹地的靈物，還是至高權威 的象徵。漢代司馬遷《史記》：「高祖為人，隆準而龍顏。」 清代更在各類宮廷御用藝術品廣泛使用龍紋，致力於塑造 帝王之正統性與無上皇權。

清代時興琢製瓶類器皿，其中龍戲珠瓶在玉瓶中占有一定 比例，其造型、玉質及圖案也多有變化。如清宮舊藏，北 京故宮博物院庋藏清中期〈和闐玉龍戲珠瓶〉、台 北國立故宮博物院庋藏清〈玉浮雕蟠龍瓶〉，裝飾 概念皆與本品相似，展現龍戲珠題材的不同創意巧思，體 現皇室尊貴之象徵。 本件玉瓶清淡高雅，白玉的純凈與圓 滑曲線相輔相成，典雅端莊，祥龍盤繞瓶頸，身姿活靈活 現，刀工超群，於繁複間見輕盈，極富美學造詣。
