盤呈敞口，淺弧壁，平底，底向內微凹。以青白瓷覆燒成器，口沿無釉，加飾金屬 包鑲，為仿定窯之設計，在宋時期亦形成風尚。胎質細膩，胎體輕盈堅硬，裡外施 青白釉，釉質瑩潤，釉薄處泛白，積釉處則呈水綠色，淡雅婉約。盤面以印花裝飾 仰蓮瓣紋，蓮花瓣層層相疊，宛若盛開蓮花，與中心折枝蓮花紋相輝映，更顯清 麗。北京故宮博物院庋藏宋〈龍泉窯蓋碗〉，器身滿布凸起蓮瓣紋，與本 品裝飾效果極為類似，可資參考。兩器蓮瓣紋在模印與釉色襯托下，賦予豐富層次 感，體現出別樣內斂之美。

北宋晚期，定窯成功創造仰燒到覆燒法，不僅節省燃 料，還能成倍提高產量，然採此種裝燒工藝會造成器 物口沿一周無釉，形成所謂「芒口」。南宋受景德鎮定 窯影響，採用複合支圈覆燒法之例，可見清宮舊藏， 北京故宮博物院庋藏宋〈青白釉印花盤〉及本 件南宋 / 元〈青白釉蓮瓣紋盤〉，兩器盤口沿皆形成「芒 口」並包鑲銅邊。又宋人喜歡香氛，衍生出各種香方 和模製成形的香餅、香印。再從宋華岳《香篆》：「輕 覆雕盤一擊開，星星微火自徘徊。還同物理人間事， 歷盡崎嶇心始灰。」在盤面點燃香餅產生無限聯想， 此類印花器皿應可視為燃燒盤香之器具。

明代王象晉《群芳譜》云：「凡物先華而後實，獨此華 實齊生。百節疏通，萬竅玲瓏，亭亭物華，出於淤泥 而不染，花中之君子也。」本盤蓮花式造型新穎奇特， 模印線條自然流暢，圓潤柔美，可謂多一線則拙，少 一線則缺，如「出筋」之藝術效果，使原本單一的青 白釉產生特有節奏美感，觀之令人心曠神怡。
