A Magnificent Charles Reuge Swiss Arnex automaton musical pocket watch. He started making ornate music boxes with complicated movements and bird automatons. Charles Reuge founded the Charles Reuge line of watches, was part of the Reuge family. They have a long history in the field of mechanical music. The Reuge company itself was established in 1865 by Charles Reuge's great-grandfather, Albert Reuge, in Sainte-Croix, Switzerland. This pocket watch by Arnex features a gold plated open face case with a reeded body, decorated case back with central musical instruments, white porcelain dial with a scenic image, musical alarm function that plays "Oh, what a beautiful morning", a truly delightful applied gilt metal automaton scene depicting a mounted gilt falconer who's arm raises proudly exhibiting his falcon while his horses head dips into a fountain, running water is taking place while a beauty vigorously manipulates the fountains lever with her arm, a fine Swiss made Arnex 17 jewel mechanical moment Case measures approx. 57mm (outside diameter).
