Smith Island, Virginia, circa 1900, carved and painted wood, incised AF.
Length 11.5 in.
Alma Fitchett, John Downes, and Captain Robert Andrews worked together at the Smith Island Life Saving Station. Together, the three men worked together to carve a rig of shorebirds to use while at the station.
