Description
A Matching Pair of Early Pre-Classic Cylinder Vases Mesoamerica, c. 1200-900 BC Thinly carved, translucent alabaster a variegated cream-white with veining. Both have two pair of perforations at the top edge, probably originally to secure a bail or cover attachment. Both are repaired from approximately four large original pieces, and one has a narrow 3" vertical band of restoration in the lower side. Rare and elegant examples.
