KENYAN SUMBURU TRIBAL PEOPLES MPORRO COLLAR, Mid-to-late 20th century. Patinated and with signs of usage Samburu Mporro Engorio beaded collar traditionally given to Samburu women upon marriage. Mporro collars are also known as a Married Woman's Necklace as they worn by the married women of the Samburu tribe in North-Central Kenya to show their married status. Consignor obtained the necklace while working in the region. - Diameter: 12 inches.
