Description
Pre-Columbian, Central Mexico, Aztec Empire, ca. 1345 to 1521 CE. A set of 2 hand-built redware pottery pipes, each with a flat base and a highly stylized snake along the topside. The longer snake presents with a minimalist oscillating body while the slightly more petite snake features elaborate curves and hemispherical nodules along its body. Size of largest: 7.375" L x 1.125" W x 1.1" H (18.7 cm x 2.9 cm x 2.8 cm)

Condition
Shorter pipe with repairs along midsection and peripheries, with small losses and light adhesive residue; larger pipe is intact. Each piece with light abrasions and chipping, otherwise in nice condition. Great surface smoothness and red hue.
