Description
Saudi Arabia: A Folio History of King Sa'ud's visit to the United States
A large edition (15"x20") bound collection of press and wire images, documenting the state visit of King Sa'ud and his family to the US. Images include the King with his family, along with President Eisenhower, Vice President and Mrs. Nixon and numerous other dignitaries. The book is printed in English and Arabic. The lot also contains 4 additional photographs of Saudi and American diplomats, including Robert Hatch of Aramco.
Note: In January and February 1957, King Saud of Saudi Arabia made a state visit to the United States of America at the invitation of President Eisenhower, with the objective of discussing the Suez crisis. This collection comes down through the family of Mr. Robert Hatch, who was appointed as manager and Vice President of the Arabian American Oil Company.
