One of the most iconic models produced by Rolex, the Submariner has enjoyed immense popularity since it's debut in the 1950's. In 1969 Rolex introduced to the market the reference 1680, the first Submariner model with a date feature. The watch was produced in both stainless steel with a matte black dial and black bezel and in 18k gold with a blue dial and bezel.
