Pakistan, Afghanistan, Indus Valley region, ca 3000 to 2500 BCE, Extremely rare grouping of hand-carved limestone disc beads, clustered into pods of about 40 beads strung together in a group of 11 such pods. One cannot imagine the amount of time each bead would take to carve let alone the time to string these. Size: 19.5" L (49.5 cm), plus additional 1.75" for lowest pendant.
Provenance: private southern California, USA collection, acquired before 2000
