Chinese Qing Dynasty Kangxi Blue and White Porcelain Brush washer. Potted with a shallow body, slight deep, open round center, dome body, raised on round foot base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue design color depicted of group merchant walking on the field beside cliff and dense tree. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze greyish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Kangxi Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
