AFRICA. A lot of 6 silver prints sold together. Circa 1917. Each hinged two to a mat, captioned in French, most with backstamp of Section Photographique de l'Armee. One showing woman with lip plates. Captions (spelling uncertain): "Type de femme Foulbe de Debahe Garoua"; "Cameroun Derala type d'indigene"; "l'almique barque grecque pontee"; "Cameroun, Bana, type de race Grasfield-Villette"; "Ce'ke'le femme, Ce'ke'le Massa avec les levres mutilees"; [one unknown]. Prints: 5.5" x 3.5"; mats: 16" x 11". Generally very good condition, various imperfections: one print creased horizontally at middle, others with occasional marks, toning, etc. *Additional images and detailed condition reports available upon request.
