Description
RIFLE. Cal. 22 Long. S# 795490. Bbl. 24" octagon w/ original sights. Tubular mag. Gold finished action is hand engraved in a design that is similar to factory no. 8 engraving. Vignette on right side of receiver features a running jackrabbit. Left side vignette depicts a woodland scene w/ a squirrel. Scenes are surrounded by vine type foliate scroll w/ stippled backgrounds. Complimentary engraving extends to upper & lower receiver areas as well as trigger guard, breech block & buttplate. Breech & muzzle ends of bbl. have gold bands accented by scroll highlights. Custom forearm & straight grip stock of nicely grained walnut have gloss finish & style H hand checkering. Bbl., mag. tube & small parts have a brilliant high polished custom blue. Total of 848,936 M1890 & M90 rifles were mfg. between 1890 & 1937. CONDITION: near excellent as upgraded retaining over 98% custom finish. Very good bright bore. (23-945/DS). CURIO. $6,500-9,500.
