Description
The Chap Book by Toulouse–Lautrecis a Fine Art hand pulled Lithograph. When Toulouse–Lautrec ventured away from his usual bohemian haunt of Montmartre, he was often frequenting the Irish and American Bar on the Rue Royale on the Parisian Right Bank of the Seine. It is here were he found his inspiration for the advertisement of The American journal, The Chap Book. Henri De Toulouse–Lautrec was a French painter, printmaker, draughtsman, caricaturist and illustrator whose immersion in the colorful and theatrical life of Paris in the late 19th century allowed him to produce a collection of enticing, elegant, and provocative images of the sometimes decadent affairs of those times. The lithograph was recreated using the same hand pulled process on a vintage press in 1999 by renown chromist, Jean Pierre Remond. Includes certificate of authenticity from S2 Art Group. Additional images available upon request. Measures 26 x 18 in.
