About the artist: Ukrainian painter. Vasily Afanasevich Petukhov was born on February 9, 1914 on the Basovo farm in the Rostov region (Russia).
In 1947 he graduated from the Kiev State Art Institute, where his teachers were M. Sharonov, M. Deregus, P. Kotov, S. Grigoriev, K. Trokhimenko.
Since 1947 - participant of republican, all-Union and foreign art exhibitions.
Petukhov V.A. - Member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR.
He worked in the field of easel painting. Master of thematic paintings, portraits and landscapes.
Major works:
"At the call of Bogdan Khmelnitsky" (1947), "The funeral of T. G. Shevchenko at the Smolensk cemetery in St. Petersburg" (1950-1951), "The brothers are coming from the East" (1960), "Spring flowers" (1963), "Morning at Spree "(1965) and others.
The works of Vasily Afanasyevich Petukhov are presented in museum, gallery and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
