David A. Maass (American, b. 1929). Oil on board painting titled "The Guardian" depicting a wood duck drake resting on a tree branch. A nesting box with a female wood duck peeking out is attached to a tree in the background. Signed along the lower right. A label from Krumbholz Gallery is affixed to the verso.

Condition
The colors are bold and bright and the surface is stable. There are no visible restorations under UV light. There are two light scuff marks along the upper left corner. There is a small area that fluoresces under UV light along the lower right corner. Light wear to the frame.
