A high-quality and particularly impressive antique French mantel clock from the end of the 19th century (Napoleon III era), made of spelter painted with a cold dye that resembling bronze with a brown patina, decorated in a Neo-classical style with female figures, allegories for summer (with a sickle in her hand and oats entwined in her hair) and an allegory for autumn (with a wine amphora and a wine goblet in her hands and in her hair entwined with vine leaves and bunches of grapes),
The upper jug has a matching lid, there is a key and a pendulum, the clock is very heavy and massive, the mechanism is made by: 'Japy Freres' from the 19th century, Besançon in France,
