Description
An antique Art Deco period, high grade silver box for King Farouk I of Egypt and Sudan. The rectangular box with a large relief plant pattern in the corners. The hinged lid is decorated with an image of a crown, and Islamic text is engraved on the inside: Koubbeh Palace, Cairo, 20 January 1938. The bottom of the box is marked Tetard Paris, due the design and manufacture being by silversmiths Tetard Freres on France Collectible Oriental Islamic Decor, Vanity Items And Silverware. Total weight: 230 g.
Dimensions: 4 3/4 x 3 x 1 3/4 in. All measurements are approximate.
