Note:The inscription indicates that this teapot was presented to John Gilliam Sitwell and his wife Ellen Mary Sitwell (nĂ©e Tingcombe) in celebration of their wedding which is recorded taking place at St. Alphege, Greenwich. John Sitwell is listed in records as a 'Navy Agent'. The gifter is likely Admiral George Anson Byron, 7th Baron Byron (1789-1868) who was a captain in the Royal Navy at the time of the wedding.Â
