Antique Art Nouveau German two-sided porcelain serving bowl; early 20th Century. There is a Carl Tielsch, Altwasser eagle on the bottom [the stamp is unclear] and underglaze impressed mark 'M'.

The bowl is wavy around the edge, shell like scallops and intricate hand-painted floral design, the bowl is c.11.1/2" x 8.1/2" [29.2cm x 21.7cm]; c.2" [5.2cm]; c.3.1/2" [8.9cm] tall including base and handle, some gold wear, no chips, no hairlines, no creases, very good condition.

Carl Tielsch founded the Altwasser factory in 1845. It swiftly became second largest porcelain factory in Silesia. After twenty years the factory employed 1,400 employees. Products of the Tielsch factory quickly became known for its high quality and artistic values. Their quality was compared to porcelain manufactures from Berlin or even Meissen.
