Description
'Little Orphan Annie' was originally created by Harold Gray in 1924; it was seen in national newspapers for 50 years. The original strip was named for a poem entitled 'Little Orphant Annie', written by James Whitcomb Riley in 1885. Following the successful Broadway run of 'Annie-The Musical' in 1977, cartoonist Leonard Starr revived the original strip and renamed it 'Annie'. Starr continued to draw 'Annie' until his retirement in 2000; these 'Annie' comic strips are from Leonard Starr's 1979-era. In about fine condition-- mounted strips in excellent shape, bright, clean, colorful. Sleeves are all firmly in place. Individual panels appear to be sequentially ordered.
