Description

The tryal of Thomas Earl of Macclesfield (Sir Thomas Parker, first Earl of Macclesfield), in the House of Peers, for high crimes and misdemeanors; upon an impeachment by the Knights, citizens and burgesses in Parliament assembled, in the name of themselves and of all the Commons of Great-Britain. Begun the 6th Day of May 1725, and from thence continued by several adjournments until the 27th day of the same month.

The high profile trial in the House of Lords of a favorite of George I, and, from 1718, Lord Chancellor.
Parker was sentenced for his crimes and made to pay a fine of 30,000 pounds to the king (to be paid to the suitors) and to imprisonment in the Tower until the fine should be paid.
Very good interior condition except spots to the final page.
