John Baldessari was an American conceptual artist known for his groundbreaking work in photography, painting, and installation art. He was born in National City, California in 1931 and studied art at various institutions, including San Diego State University and the University of California, Berkeley.Baldessari's work often involved the use of photographs, which he combined with text, painting, and other media to create complex, multi-layered pieces.
