The album, the group's second studio effort (and first as a band since their debut was essentially recorded only by founder Dave Grohl and producer Barrett Jones) went to #10 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums and #3 on the UK Albums charts. It contained singles "Monkey Wrench", "Everlong" and "My Hero", all of which went top 10. It also picked up a Grammy award nomination for Best Rock Album in 1998.

Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Platinum award is a first presentation award that would have been manufactured in 1998 making this award approximately 25 years old. It is presented to Tim Wallen, who worked in record promotion for Capitol Records and other labels throughout his career.

The award features an unusual shallow shadow box design with an actual sculpture inside reflecting the album's artwork. It is all original with back with, Jewel Box Platinum manufacturer's sticker and all correct components. This award is in VG condition, with only very minor mars on the plexiglass and frame.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
