The Taipei National Palace Museum has an enamel glass-bodied snuff bottle in the shape of bamboo and painted spiders and leaves from the Yongzheng period. Experts say this is the first enamel glass-bodied snuff bottle from the Yongzheng period that has been seen on the market. It's not surprising that there is also glass imitations of amethyst in bamboo shaped with carved spiders and leaves from the Qianlong period. Purple represents nobility, as seen in Beijing's Forbidden City, also known as the "Purple Forbidden City". Bamboo symbolizes resilience, longevity, happiness, and spiritual truth. In Chinese culture, spiders are closely associated with auspiciousness, beauty, and wealth. In ancient legends, spiders were considered lucky creatures.
