Description
Circa 6th-8th century A.D. Comprising: pelta-shaped bridle mount with three-band knotwork ornament to the obverse; lobed finial, possibly from a cruciform mount, with raised border and high-relief Insular Style knotwork. Cf. West, S., A Corpus of Anglo-Saxon Finds From Suffolk, East Anglian Archaeology 84, Ipswich, 1998, items 21, 9, 11, for type. 11.8 grams total, 15-28 mm (5/8 - 1 1/8 in.).
