8th-9th century A.D. Formed using an Abbasid Caliphate dinar coin with ridged suspension loop attached. Cf. Williams, G., Pentz, P., Wenmhoff, M., Vikings life and legends, The British Museum, London, 2014, p.55, for similar items. 4.43 grams, 22 mm (7/8 in.).
Acquired in the late 1970s and 1980s. Ex property of a London gentleman.
