Description
A 19th century gold chalcedony sob seal, carved to depict a man in profile.
Length 2.1cms. 6.5gms.
Condition Report:Scratches and minor marks.
Repairs/alterations to the pedestal.
Agate shows slight surface scratches and frits/abrasion to the edge of the engraving.
Electronically tests to reverse as approximately 11-12ct gold.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
