Canadian. 1930s. Single-sided porcelain (SSP). Contains all the alcohol required for long sea travel. Brewed especially for Export Ale. Montreal. Will keep in tropical climates. Designed for mounting to the exterior corner of a building or post. 72" x 14" x 5". From a Private Quebec Collection.

Condition

Spectacular large sign. Losses with touch-ups to the upper and lower quarters, most significantly affecting the logo script and the ale script on the lower edge. Significant loss with touch-up along the lower edge. Also, a significant loss and touch-up next to the end in the vertical Frontenac script. Porcelain is vibrant and colourful overall, a supportive wooden brace has been added behind.
