Description
American. 1920s. Pressed steel. William Schieble was famous for inventing the "hill climbing mechanism" for his toys. He patented his invention; however, the company he used to work for decided they could use his patent, without paying him any royalties. Schieble launched numerous lawsuits against his former company, most of which he won. This coupe was made in various colors including this blue model. Marked, "Schieble Toy Dayton, Ohio" and "Firestone", on tires. 7" x 19" x 6". From the Late John D. Anderson Collection.
Condition
In overall good condition. Original and complete. The paint is very worn in areas, with nicks and scratches throughout. Original wheels are cracked. Tested and working.
