Two French 1822/99 Model Cavalry Officer's Sabres The First Dated 1903 The first with bright curved fullered blade double-edged towards the point and etched with dated Chatellerault manufactory details along the back at the forte, and stamped with three inspector's marks on one side at the forte, regulation brass hilt sparsely cast with foliage and comprising two bars swept up to join to knuckle-guard, the pommel engraved with owner's conjoined monogram 'AC', and wire-bound dark horn grip, in original bright steel scabbard (some rust patination) with ring for suspension; the second with slender curved fullered blade indistinctly stamped with maker's name on one side at the forte, regulation brass hilt retaining traces of gilding and cast with branches of laurel, with two bars swept up to join the knuckle-guard, and wire-bound dark horn grip (minor chip on one side beneath the pommel), in original steel scabbard with ring for suspension (2) 89.7 cm. and 92.2 cm. blades For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
