United States, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A beautiful and elegant sterling silver "Candlelight" pattern fruit bowl by famous hollowware maker Towle Silversmiths. The underside is marked "Candlelight By Towle" and "STERLING" with the number 52380. The interior and exterior are repousse and chased with scrolling floral brocade motifs. The vessel is in great condition and can be used as intended! The Candlelight series was first introduced in 1934, remaining popular for many decades until it was discontinued in 2009. Towle also produced the "Marie Louise," a pattern used by worldwide in United States embassies. Size: 10" Diameter x 2.25" H (25.4 cm x 5.7 cm); silver quality: 92.9%; weight: 432.8 grams
