Swarland Burn, Newton on the Moor, Northumberland, signed lower right "R Onslow Ford", signed and inscribed on the stretcher "Swarland Burn Newton on the Moor/Northumberland/R. Onslow Ford", oil on linen, 20-1/4 x 24 in.; original gilt wood and composition frame, 27-1/2 x 31-1/2 x 4 in.

Note: Rudolph Onslow-Ford was the uncle of artist Gordon Onslow-Ford and was his first art teacher. He was the son of Edward Onslow Ford, a well-known sculptor.
