Description
English and German. 1940s and 1950s. The U.S. Zone Germany mark on the smallest horse, was used on toys exported from Germany between 1945 and 1949, when U.S. allies occupying controlled territories would only permit export of items with the marking. The larger horse with cowboy was Made in England and the horse with the Native was Made in Germany. Marked, "Germany", on underside of Horse with Native. Marked, "Made in England", on lower part of horse blanket by left foot of Larger horse with cowboy. Marked, "Made in U.S.-Zone Germany", on underside of smallest cowboy on horse.
Size
Indian toy: 5.5" x 5" x 2". Cowboy wind-up toy: 6" x 5.5" x 2". Cowboy toy: 4.5" x 4" x 2".
Condition
All toys are in excellent condition. The horse with Indian has some paint chips and oxidation to the wind-up lever, base, and underside. Wind-up functions properly. The larger horse with cowboy has some paint fade on the face and oxidation to the wind-up lever, base and underside. The smallest cowboy on horse shows evidence of left arm restoration and some scuffs across the body.
