Description
Edgar Degas (1834-1917) original etching, aquatint and drypoint, printed in black ink on thick wove creme paper. It was impressed in 1877, and is titled Danseuses Dans La Coulisse (Dancers in the Wings), Degas’ work captures dancers in the wings of the theater standing among the scenery, waiting to make their entrance. The original copper plate was executed about 1877. With frame, it measures 15.5 inches x 13.25 inches (39cm x 34cm). The sheet size is 13.62 inches x 10.75 inches (35cm x 28cm) and the image size is 5.5 inches x 4.0 inches (14cm x 10cm).
