An Art Deco diamond cocktail wristwatch, by Lusserna, with the original, silvered dial, with black enamel Arabic numerals, signed Lusserna, with plain black hands, in a square, two part, platinum case. The square dial is surrounded by eight-cut diamonds, with larger round brilliant-cut diamonds set either side, in eight-cut diamond set D shaped surrounds. The shoulder terminals are of a geometric, Art Deco, open frame design, attached to a diamond set box link bracelet, with a total of 78, eight-cut diamonds and 2, round brilliant-cut diamonds, with an approximate total weight of 2.18ct. The watch is mounted in platinum, with millegrain edges and an engraved clasp. Circa 1930.
The inside of the case is marked 10% irid platinum, with service record numbers M555, 17989, 11-49NY. The movement is signed R. H. Macy & Co inc Swiss, 17 seventeen jewels, adj three, 3 posit, marked HXM, these marks were given to Swiss watch exporters in the 1920s or 1930s. Lusserna was a house brand for the R. H. Macy department store.
