Biography: Born La Grange, Illinois. Mrs. Brigham was born and spent most of her life, prior to moving to Florida, in LaGrange, Ill She majored in art at Rockford College for two years before moving on to study at the Chicago Art Institute for two years. Five years were spent at Wellfleet on Cape Cod where she studied with George Elmer Brown and Henry Hensche. On the Cape she was represented in the Don Witherstine Gallery in Provincetown. In Chicago she was represented in the C. Feingartin Gallery on the near north side. She was also a member of the National Women’s Painters Association of America. Mrs. Brigham submitted paintings for five years in a row to the Chicago and vicinity show at the Art Institute of Chicago and was accepted in each of the shows. She was represented in the Chicago Art Institute Art Rental Society for a number of years. She entered the Rockford Art Show at the Burpee Gallery and won first prize the first and second on the second. Since coming to Naples three years ago, Mrs. Brigham has won awards at the Naples Art Association, the Fort Myers Art Association and Lehigh Acres Fine Arts Association. The exhibit will remain on display at the bank until Tuesday, Feb. 12.
