Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, Chinesco Type B, Protoclassic Period, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. A fine and intact example of a Chinesco Type B pottery figure, hollow-built and highly burnished, presenting with perky breasts and a neat skirt, and with adornments of white spots and stripes adorning her waist, neckline. Size: 4.3" L x 3.8" W x 7.25" H (10.9 cm x 9.7 cm x 18.4 cm)

Minor nicks and abrasions, with even craquelure over most surfaces, and scattered earthen deposits, otherwise intact and excellent. Great surface smoothness, and wonderful preservation to pigment throughout. Previous inventory label fragments beneath base and on side of 1 thigh.
