Description
Two sterling spoons by Elkington (Birmingham) for the Cunard Steam Ship Company, one marked "Lusitania" (1907 date mark) and the other marked "Caronia" (1905 date mark). Each of the spoons was created the same year as its ocean liner's maiden voyage. The Lusitania was torpedoed by a German U-boat in 1915, famously playing a role in the United States' eventual decision to declare war on Germany and join the first World War.

Each spoon is 5" in length, and the pair weighs 1.19 ozt.
