**Von Lengerke & Detmold Knock About Gun 28 Gauge
28 Gauge. 26" barrel length. SN: 74726. 2.75" chamber length. Full Chokes. Blued metal finish with color case hardened frame set in a Walnut round-knob pistol grip stock with red rubber NOSHOC recoil pad. Double barrel side by side boxlock extractor shotgun with light engraving to the barrel fences and dollshead. Right frame is engraved with the maker marking VON LENGERKE & DETMOLD/NEW YORK with model marking to the left reading THE KNOCK ABOUT GUN. Item features sunburst scroll to the hinge pin and securing screw, and to the locking lug. Upper fences are matted with light border scroll surrounding the Arabesque scrollwork flowing from the dollshead to the rear of the matted barrel rib. Retailer mark appears on the upper left barrel and the model to the right. Barrel flats exhibit Belgian firing proofs and choke markings with the flat below the left barrel reading FRANCOTTE CHOKEBORE, indicating this was one of the shoguns produced for Von Lengerke & Detmold by Francotte of Belgium. Item comes in a leather bound PEDERSEN/CUSTOM hard case with yellow textile liner.
WARNING: Oxidation on the breeches prevents the shotgun from being assembled. Item should be inspected and repaired by a gunsmith prior to shooting.

Condition
Poor. Bores are primarily Very Bright with some spots of patina in the chambers. Item shows oxidation to the right barrel in patches along its entire length, and over the breech faces. Bluing shows some light scratches and scuffs. Yellow fibers to the oxidation on the right barrel from where it fused to the case. Case colors are strong, but the frame shows scattered brown patina and oxidized spots. Wood to metal fit is tight with the wood showing strong checkering and some scattered light mars. Oxidation on the barrels prevents the firearm from being assembled, and it should be inspected by a gunsmith prior to shooting.
