Description
A CANTON PAINTED GILT-METAL AND ENAMEL FOLDING FAN
Circa 1850
The guards and sticks decorated with filigree ropework, the sticks picked out with coloured enamels, the guards applied with silver wirework representing dragons and phoenix, the paper leaf painted recto with a court assembly, the verso a military scene, the figures with applied ivory faces and fabric clothing.
53cm (20 7/8in) wide.
