E. Reynaud, Rue Rodier, Paris. With lacquered metal drum, turned wood stand, two different original shades, candle-holder, original mirrors and 10 original strips, in maker’s card box. Included is a reprint of the work "Pantomimes Lumineuses". - Note: An improvement of the zoetrope, Émile Reynaud's praxinoscope used a series of mirrors with prism-like effect to create moving images without the typical flicker associated with persistence of vision devices. -- Literature: Coe, "The History of Movie Photography", p. 35.
