(Disneyland, 1980s) A large Swivel Gear for the Haunted Mansion "Doom Buggies" at Disneyland. The "Doom Buggy" ride vehicle is based on the omnimover ride system developed by imagineers Roger Broggie and Bert Brundage and was first used in the "Adventures Thru Inner Space" attraction. The Swivel movements of the vehicle were controlled by a series of gears underneath the track, and this gear was removed during a rehabilitation of the attraction. The heavy metal gear measures 20.5"x 20"x2" thick and is in very good condition with expected wear from use.
